The Digital Guy (first person we turn to for help with any and all IT related matter). Rommel became the first Digital Banking Manager for the Enterprise and took the lead in project review, approval and implementation of Remote Deposit Capture and Mobile Remote Deposit.
Jackie offers 25 plus years of banking experience and a perspective from the senior positions she has held. “We’re definitely much more hands on here and we know how to get things done by collaborating with each other.” This approach stands in stark contrast to her previous years of employment at a larger international bank. “Every challenge at TASI Bank presents the opportunity to explore, learn and build lasting relationships not only with clients, but within our community and that’s where I feel like I make a difference.”
2021 was a year of dramatic change and growth for TASI Bank. Our clients started seeing a slow return from the pandemic to more regular economic and social activity and we helped their businesses recover by modifying loans and originating millions in the 2nd round PPP loans as well. It wasn’t all COVID all the time here, though. After an intensive training program, many of us at TASI Bank received the prestigious title of ABP (Accredited Banking Professional). We are all now much better prepared to serve our clients needs, expand the bank’s presence in the market and capture the premium pricing we deserve as talented financial experts serving our clients’ needs.

So our Marketing Guy asked me to write something about something that happened this year. Like I have time for that. You know what happened this year? Well, there was this worldwide thing that all my co-workers kept talking about, but more importantly, I got married, I moved and we’re getting ready to have a…really great year in 2022!
The Comedian! (Truly a breath of fresh air with her jokes) Barbara has had the opportunity to provide the best customer experience to all of our customers. Especially those who may not have been so pleased. She has the ability to make things right and turn the experience into a satisfied resolution.
What a year! The PPP program was a constant during the year and I was reminded of their importance when I spoke with one of my Borrowers. The first thing she did was to thank me for helping her get a PPP loan. Next, I participated in my first rebranding project of the TASI Bank. It is an exciting time for the bank and I am happy to be part of the adventure with my colleagues. Lastly, the Emmerich sales process training was introduced, taking 9 months to complete. The training often felt like “just another thing” but there was a lot of value in the material. I am looking forward to a successful 2022!
2021 had so many challenges for everyone which pushed us to be resilient for the “New Normal.” From working remotely to being cautious when leaving my house - I choose not to take anything for granted. I am more appreciative with what I have. It has made me reach out to family members more often, even members I haven’t talked to in years. Material things dont matter that much. Appreciate the little things in life and keep reminding myself “just close your eyes, take a deep breath and pray things will get better.”
Shirley’s commitment to community sets her apart from a typical branch manager. Shirley is instrumental in fostering TASI Bank’s community involvement with two San Francisco-based nonprofit organizations. She sits on the Curry Center board of directors for nearly a decade and she is also on the board of Gracenter. AND she loves emojis.
After 20 years at a large Texas bank, for JZ Zhang, TASI Bank is a rewarding experience. “What I am doing now is a combination of all that I’ve learned in my banking career which is cool.” She enjoys working in an environment where she has relationships with customers who are not just accounts. “We try to own a problem when one occurs. We don’t pass a customer from person to person, we are proactive.”
The Cheerful One! (always has a smile and warm greeting for everyone she encounters, even at the end of the day.) Cristine was given the opportunity to help create the digital banking division here at TASI Bank. She is cross trained and makes valuable input towards customer service as well converting her duties to digital filing alleviating paper.

The Dependable One! (her knowledge makes her the one to turn to when you need something done in a pinch.) Clarice is a stable and reliable part of the operations team. She brings 7 years of banking knowledge. She has been instrumental in converting all paper files in new accounts to digital. This effort cuts costs on paper and storage. In addition, these efforts make information readily available to everyone on the team by simply logging into the share drive from the office or remotely.
In my first year at TASI Bank, I have transformed into somebody that a younger version of myself would be very proud of. I have learned from our top performers, immersed myself in our process and taken part in under writing a number of transactions. I have grown so much this year from the encouragement, motivation, and endless support of our team. To recap this year, I have made great strides into the beginning of my career and am forever grateful to have this opportunity to learn and grow. I have so much to look forward to in the coming year, honing in on my strengths, strengthening my weaknesses and taking on new deals. I look forward to growing with my team.

2021 is a milestone for me. I have been working in the banking industry for 10 years. 2021 is also a year of growth for me. I have become a first time mom and moved to TASI Bank. Becoming a mom has tapped into a different level of joy and excitement, especially during the holidays. Becoming part of the Loan support team has opened many learning opportunities for me. Through all these changes, it has allowed me to harness the strength that I never thought I had. I am grateful that I have my personal family and work family who are rooting for my growth and success.
