Viral has been known to summit a couple of 8,000 meter mountains in an afternoon, only to follow that up by teaching Laird Hamilton the finer points of big wave surfing at sunset at Jaws, while convincing him to consider a career change to commercial lending—because it’s more exhilarating.

The Digital Guy (first person we turn to for help with any and all IT related matter). Rommel became the first Digital Banking Manager for the Enterprise and took the lead in project review, approval and implementation of Remote Deposit Capture and Mobile Remote Deposit.

Jackie offers 25 plus years of banking experience and a perspective from the senior positions she has held. “We’re definitely much more hands on here and we know how to get things done by collaborating with each other.” This approach stands in stark contrast to her previous years of employment at a larger international bank. “Every challenge at TASI Bank presents the opportunity to explore, learn and build lasting relationships not only with clients, but within our community and that’s where I feel like I make a difference.”

2021 was a year of dramatic change and growth for TASI Bank. Our clients started seeing a slow return from the pandemic to more regular economic and social activity and we helped their businesses recover by modifying loans and originating millions in the 2nd round PPP loans as well. It wasn’t all COVID all the time here, though. After an intensive training program, many of us at TASI Bank received the prestigious title of ABP (Accredited Banking Professional). We are all now much better prepared to serve our clients needs, expand the bank’s presence in the market and capture the premium pricing we deserve as talented financial experts serving our clients’ needs.

So our Marketing Guy asked me to write something about something that happened this year. Like I have time for that. You know what happened this year? Well, there was this worldwide thing that all my co-workers kept talking about, but more importantly, I got married, I moved and we’re getting ready to have a…really great year in 2022!

The Comedian! (Truly a breath of fresh air with her jokes) Barbara has had the opportunity to provide the best customer experience to all of our customers. Especially those who may not have been so pleased. She has the ability to make things right and turn the experience into a satisfied resolution.

What a year! The PPP program was a constant during the year and I was reminded of their importance when I spoke with one of my Borrowers. The first thing she did was to thank me for helping her get a PPP loan. Next, I participated in my first rebranding project of the TASI Bank. It is an exciting time for the bank and I am happy to be part of the adventure with my colleagues. Lastly, the Emmerich sales process training was introduced, taking 9 months to complete. The training often felt like “just another thing” but there was a lot of value in the material. I am looking forward to a successful 2022!

2021 had so many challenges for everyone which pushed us to be resilient for the “New Normal.” From working remotely to being cautious when leaving my house - I choose not to take anything for granted. I am more appreciative with what I have. It has made me reach out to family members more often, even members I haven’t talked to in years. Material things dont matter that much. Appreciate the little things in life and keep reminding myself “just close your eyes, take a deep breath and pray things will get better.”

Shirley’s commitment to community sets her apart from a typical branch manager. Shirley is instrumental in fostering TASI Bank’s community involvement with two San Francisco-based nonprofit organizations. She sits on the Curry Center board of directors for nearly a decade and she is also on the board of Gracenter. AND she loves emojis.

After 20 years at a large Texas bank, for JZ Zhang, TASI Bank is a rewarding experience. “What I am doing now is a combination of all that I’ve learned in my banking career which is cool.” She enjoys working in an environment where she has relationships with customers who are not just accounts. “We try to own a problem when one occurs. We don’t pass a customer from person to person, we are proactive.”

2021 is a milestone for me. I have been working in the banking industry for 10 years. 2021 is also a year of growth for me. I have become a first time mom and moved to TASI Bank. Becoming a mom has tapped into a different level of joy and excitement, especially during the holidays. Becoming part of the Loan support team has opened many learning opportunities for me. Through all these changes, it has allowed me to harness the strength that I never thought I had. I am grateful that I have my personal family and work family who are rooting for my growth and success.

Michael joins TASI® Bank bringing 10 years of banking experience and over $2.0 billion in loan transaction history. He consistently provides top-notch services for his clients. In between playing disc golf amongst the redwood trees, hiking throughout the bay area, and embarking with his friends/family (and dog Wallie) on their next adventure, he’s out chasing the next deal!

Jenny Jing works with customers in collaboration with other TASI® Bank staff. She comes to us after serving as branch operations/mortgage loan officer at East West Bank in Fremont. “Here, I [have] a work-life balance and the opportunity to use all my skills,” she said. “It’s very different from other banks.” “I have been in the banking industry for more than 5 years. In July 2023, I embarked on an exciting new journey as a Digital Banking Officer at TASI® Bank, where I continue to explore and contribute to the ever-evolving landscape of financial technology. My role involves pioneering new ways to enhance customers' experiences in the digital realm, making banking more accessible and convenient for everyone. I have a deep passion for outdoor adventures, particularly hiking. Hiking is a way for me to reconnect with nature, clear my mind and challenge myself physically. I’m also a devoted dog lover. My furry friend reminds me to appreciate life's simple joys and to always keep moving forward.”

Robert (Bobby) Beresford was named a loan support officer by TASI® Bank, serving businesses in Northern California, Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. Previously a quality control analyst at JP Morgan Chase, he joins the expanding staff in San Francisco. “The training and interaction have been great,” he said. A UC Santa Barbara graduate with a degree in economics, Beresford says, “TASI definitely feels like an extended family. It’s pretty unique and fits my personality.

Mylette Basa joined TASI® Bank, a San Francisco-based financial institution serving business customers in Northern and Southern California, as an operations officer, reporting to Joanne Weng. She is responsible for handling day-to-day operations and customer contact at the bank’s financial district location. She previously worked at First Republic Bank. “I really like it here,” she said. “The ‘maverick’ attitude creates a family-like atmosphere.”

TASI® Bank, a San Francisco-based financial institution serving business customers in Northern an Southern California, hired Gary Singh as a credit analyst. San Jose State University graduate Singh reports to Hitesh Bajaria and will be responsible for reviewing financial details for loan applications. He comes to the bank from Ernst & Young, where he was a risk consultant. “I made a great choice to join TASI Bank,” he said. “It’s a nice culture.”

TASI® Bank has hired Abhay Sandhu as a Vice President/Relationship Manager for the San Francisco-based financial institution that serves business customers in Northern and Southern California. Having to returned to TASI Barnk from Flagstar Private Bank, he said, “I missed the family vibe. It’s not only how we relate to each other but also how we impact clients on a personal level. I also appreciate that we are encouraged to develop a broad range of customers in various sectors.” Sandhu, a graduate of UC Davis, had previously worked at TASI Bank as a Credit Analyst. He will report Hitesh Bajaria.

Andrew Woolard is a credit analyst, reporting to Hitesh Bajaria, regional vice president. A graduate of Pepperdine University, he was previously a co-founder of Ayna and Woolard Investments. “The TASI Bank culture fits me,” he said. “People are passionate and very supportive. It was evident from my first interview.” Woolard is a Level II candidate in the CFA Program. In the process of obtaining his pilot’s license, he and his father have built an airplane together.
