4.24.25 - From Donuts to Debit Cards: Galileo High Crashes the Vault at TASI Bank
04.24.2025
In honor of Financial Literacy Month TASI Bank threw open its doors, coffee bar, and conference rooms to host the Junior Achievement of Northern California Job Shadow Program for a bright and curious group of students from Galileo High School in San Francisco.
Morning: Powered by Sugar & Curiosity
The day kicked off like any proper workday should—with a welcome donut session. Maple bars were negotiated. Sprinkles were traded. Financial careers were questioned.
Once the sugar rush kicked in, the students got down to business with guided tours of the bank, where they got a firsthand look at how our behind-the-scenes banking magic actually happens.
Speaker Sessions: TASI Unplugged
Throughout the morning, students rotated through department deep-dives with our Operations, Credit Administration, Business Development, and Marketing teams. From learning how loans are approved to understanding why your favorite Instagram ad looks the way it does, the students got the inside scoop on:
• What we actually do all day
• The skills that matter (spoiler: Excel and empathy both make the cut)
• Career paths they didn’t know existed
• Why banking is never just about money—it’s about people, trust, and community
Each session wrapped with lively Q&As, and we have to say, Galileo High School students did not come to play. Real questions. Real insights. Real interest in job titles longer than most TikTok captions.
Midday Mayhem: Scavenger Hunt Edition
To keep the energy (and competition) high, we launched the TASI Bank Branch Scavenger Hunt, where students raced around HQ looking for clues and learning the principles and nuances of banking along the way. Yes, someone did find the FDIC sign faster than anyone expected. No, we’re not saying it was luck—just excellent deduction skills.
The Grand Finale: Pizza & Perspectives
We wrapped the day with a pizza lunch (pineapple: yes or no will forever divide us) and a closing group conversation where students reflected on what they learned, asked more great questions, and maybe—just maybe—started seeing themselves in roles they hadn’t considered before.
Serious Stuff (With a Smile)
April may be Financial Literacy Month, but at TASI Bank, we believe building financial confidence and career curiosity is something we do year-round. Partnering with Junior Achievement of Northern California and welcoming Galileo High was more than just a one-day event—it was a reminder of why we do what we do.
We’re here to build relationships, grow communities, and yes, serve the next generation of changemakers, entrepreneurs, and maybe even a few future bankers (who really know their way around a donut tray).
Thanks for spending the day with us, Galileo. You brought the energy. You asked the good questions. And you left our offices smarter, hungrier, and possibly thinking about your LinkedIn profile.
Until next time—keep learning, keep laughing, and don’t forget to balance your checkbook (or at least Google what that means).
